Innovations in Patient Monitoring

Real-world needs. World-class innovations.

As a leader in respiratory care, Covidien is committed to bringing new products to market that help improve patient outcomes. Our innovations are driven by real-world needs, with each new product development cycle informed by the evolving clinical and business needs of thousands of healthcare professionals, over decades of partnership.

Our OxiNet™ III system is specifically designed to address the unique demands of today’s medical environment, with comprehensive monitoring for modern hospital layouts and the realities of nursing staffing constraints. It provides centralized, efficient and comprehensive monitoring of multiple pulse oximeters alarms, enabling around-the-clock vigilance, with fewer patient disruptions.

We’ve developed advanced new software for our Nellcor™ OxiMax™ N-600x™ pulse oximeter that improves alarm management and provides more helpful information to staff. Features like our SatSeconds™ alarm management allow clinicians the ability to differentiate between clinically significant desaturations and minor transient events, so they can be there when it really matters. And the OxiMax™ SPD™ alert detects patterns of desaturation indicative of repetitive reductions in airflow in adults*, which can help notify clinicians and physicians of respiratory developments before they become pulmonary emergencies.

When digital sensors are failing due to low perfusion or when adhesive sensors are harmful to neonates, burn patients and others with fragile skin, our customers depend on our specialized sensors such as MAX-FAST™ forehead sensors and SoftCare™ nonadhesive sensors. We address the specific needs of both clinicians and patients, and we remanufacture our own sensors, making single-use sensors more cost effective and environmentally friendly—all while guaranteeing their performance.

And our equipment is more than just affordable, reliable, accurate and clinically relevant—it’s also durable. Service is a fraction of our customers’ costs. We’ve got the technical expertise and comprehensive support to troubleshoot any issue and make it right.

*Note:  OxiMax™ SPD™ alert is intended for adult in-hospital use only.  Do not use OxiMax™ SPD™ alert with pediatric or neonatal patients.
